Pastor Russell Miles is the Senior Pastor of New Hope Freedom and Deliverance Cathedral in Louisburg, NC. He has been the Senior Pastor since 2019. Archbishop Lorenzo N. Peterson, the founder of New Hope Freedom and Deliverance Cathedral, appointed him to the pastoral position. Before becoming a pastor at Freedom & Deliverance, he served 14 years as a minister, elder, and associate pastor under Archbishop Peterson. Pastor Miles attended East Carolina University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education. He taught English for three years as a middle school and high school teacher. In 1994, he moved to Charlotte, NC, where he attended Victory Christian Center under the pastorship of the late Pastor Robyn Gool. He began working in libraries in Charlotte, which led him to his current position with the NC Legislative Library in Raleigh, NC. While working at the Legislative Library, he earned a master’s degree in library science. Pastor Miles is committed to teaching Kingdom principles that allow everyone to live a victorious Kingdom life. The driving force behind everything that happens at Freedom and Deliverance is the motto “Sheep First.” The motto was developed jointly with Pastor Michael Taylor, assistant pastor at New Hope Freedom and Deliverance. Pastor Miles married the love of his life, Vincella Marie Miles, on October 14, 2023, who has elevated his effectiveness in carrying out Kingdom ministry.
